Is your assessment of Islam based on:
• Your Muslim friends?
• Your academic study of Islam?
• Recent events?
• Your opinion?
• The opinion of others?
Christianity, Judaism, and Islam have common roots in religious history beginning at the story of Abraham in the Old Testament. The three great world views of God are about Him, and not their differences. The name of God is the same in every language, and God's purpose is peace (“peace be with you” - Hebrew “Shalom aleikhem”; Muslim “as-salāmuʿalaykum”; Christian English “The peace of the Lord be with you”). It is peace with God, peace between nations, peace in religion, and peace with one another. There are many “peaces”, but they all mean man’s accountability to God.
• Was peace just God’s suggestion?
• Is there a good reason to sin?
• Do God’s people kill in peace?
• What religion has not broken the peace?
In the past 1400 years, the body count has been staggering, but it ebbed and flowed and is now only breakers on the shore. But, until there is at last true peace, when will the killing end?* Someday the sun will burn out and earth will end long before that happens. Is that the answer? Who will stop this cycle of madness? Each religion involved has a different theory, but theories need to be challenged. When will the evolution of religion produce people of peace? Is mankind a hopeless species?
God is not accountable for what men do. Human beings are defective.
Mayhem is not peace. Hate is not peace. God is Peace. Jesus taught the crowd and all Christians, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God”. **
The differences between, and within, Islam, Judaism, and Christians are sectarian. The expressions of these religions are multifaceted. There are at least thirteen expressions of Judaism, dozens of Christian denominations, and the 1.1 billion Muslims are rich with sects and traditions. No ancient religion is one thing or another.
Conflicts are geopolitical differences that call for dialog, not hate, fear, or war. President Obama said it best by pointing out the extreme clashes between and by religions contradict Gods order of peace, mercy, care, respect, and love. God judges every man and every nation without bias, according to the Scriptures.
Religions hold the answer.
Those who claim there is no God, have a problem proving it, as well as explaining their leap of faith from God to what? In the past century, the two most notorious atheists were Joseph Stalin and Adolph Hitler. The fault is not in religion, it is in man’s proclivity to hate others or to consider them to be less human than themselves. That is a good reason for religions to exist, and acknowledge God as recorded in the scriptures of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Let him who has not sinned come forward and identify himself. Let a religion do the same. History finds no one or any religion or any nation on Earth innocent of sin of the most egregious sort – bar none. We have done more than shameful things while under the Constitution of the United States. We are not exceptional, we are just different in same ways and the same in other ways.We have a good economy and are under the rule of law, not a potentate. For a potentate, we have a paper Constitution that says freedom.
To the Christian basement:
*(Some say Armageddon, forgetting that they will be one of the killers or be killed The Rapture is a fanciful escape pod. There is no Scotty to beam you up. It's hopeless doctrine invented for convenience. Three miles up everyone would die from the cold and lack of oxygen. It is so 19th century. The Bible does not say that, it was pieced together from dubious doctrine and arcane verses, like a ransom note.)
**(But that was a long time ago and he just didn’t understand the urgency to wipe out Muslim hate. He talked like a Marxist, that Prince of Peace)
